
When should child's teeth come in?
Most babies will develop teeth between 6 and 12months. Typically, the first teeth to come in are almost always the lower frontteeth (the lower central incisors), and most children will usually have all oftheir baby teeth by age 3. The average child has their full set of 20 primaryteeth by the age of 3 years. Between the ages of about 6 and 7 years, theprimary teeth start to shed and the permanent teeth begin to come through. Bythe age of about 21 years, the average person has 32 permanent teeth – 16 inthe upper jaw and 16 in the lower jaw. What age should a child have a dentalcheck up? The first dental visit is recommended by 12 months of age, or within6 months of the first tooth coming in. The first visit often lasts 30 to 45minutes. Depending on your child's age, the visit may include a full exam ofthe teeth, jaws, bite, gums, and oral tissues to check growth and development.
